ZUZANA LOVA

DIRECTOR/PRODUCER

Zuzana was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic and now resides in Los Angeles, California. After moving to Los Angeles, she danced with many entertainers, including: Robin Thicke, Kanye West, 30 Seconds to Mars, Chemical Romance, Will.I.Am, Snoop Dogg, Bassement Jaxx, Faithless, Apokalyptika, and has also appeared in TV shows and films such as Gilmore Girls, CSI Las Vegas, Telenovela, Life in Pieces, Nip Tuck and more. She has served as the writer and assistant director for online commercials, and is very excited to introduce She Is... in her directorial debut.
Zuzana joined the She-Is non-profit as the Director of Operations in spring 2015 and continues teaching dance to survivors of sex trafficking in aftercare. Zuzana is very passionate about documentary filmmaking and she is driven to honestly portray the lives of survivors. She hopes this film will help shift the focus from the abuse to the life of healing and survivorship in aftercare, as a survivor's hopes and dreams often come alive during this time.

ISABELLA GROSSO

 PRODUCER

Isabella is a California native and professional dancer whose credits include Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Pitfall, and LA KISS. She has also appeared in TV shows, including: Life in Pieces, The Mentalist, Desperate Housewives, Victorious, and Switched at Birth, and was named Miss Italy for the Queen of the Universe pageant 2013.
Isabella is also a survivor of child sexual abuse. After years of attempting to heal from her trauma, she found solace in dance and discovered a sense of empowerment and reconnection with her body. Facing her past and embracing her newfound sense of self worth, Isabella set out to help others who had survived similar experiences.  In September 2014, she founded the non profit She-Is with the mission to help heal young survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking worldwide. Now she dedicates her time and energy to her one true passion in life: Educating and teaching the power of dance to survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.

M.L. BORDNER

CREATIVE PRODUCER/WRITER

M.L. Bordner enters the documentary film world with an innate curiosity and an insatiable love for authentic storytelling. With a masters degree in public health, and an undergraduate degree in psychology and urban studies, she brings a strong research background to each project. A social justice advocate in heart and practice, her professional background is built upon supporting women on their paths to self-discovery. She has worked to help develop and implement programs to support incarcerated women, women in recovery, and pregnant and parenting mothers. Her desire to leave no stone unturned, strengthens her aim to discover human truths through the exploration of vulnerability and authenticity. She is very grateful to join the She Is... documentary team and to help tell the stories of survivors on their paths to peace and healing.

NATHAN KIM

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY/CREATIVE PRODUCER

Nathan Kim is a Los Angeles based filmmaker originally from the island

of Maui. He got his start as a professional dancer, working in movement

for 10 years before stepping behind the camera to develop his own work.

Nathan pulls inspiration from themes of nature, community, mathematics, and spirituality, creating music videos, fashion films, narrative work,

as well as a variety of explorational dance and music pieces through his Humanshapes project. Nathan is excited to be working with the She Is... documentary team, helping to give a voice to this important population of women, and visually exploring the beauty and healing possibilities of dance.

BILLY SORRENTINO

PRODUCER

Billy Sorrentino is an editor, producer and media executive. In 2012, Sorrentino co-founded Karbonshark, a Los Angeles based independent film and television production company. The company is responsible for the development and production of multiple genres of content distributed to networks reaching over 100 million homes in North America and nearly

1 billion homes Worldwide. His credits include After Porn Ends series on Netflix and Amazon, A Cam Life on Hulu, Abstract: The art of Design on Netflix, Beautifully Balanced on Facebook Watch and others. 

BENJAMIN SHEARN

EDITOR

Benjamin Shearn's editing work has spanned documentary, narrative features, shorts, dance, branded content and music videos. Since 2010, Shearn has edited and directed music videos for a host of prominent musicians such as Foster the People, Moullinex, Peaking Lights, Maria Minerva and Octo Octa. His videos have been featured on VICE, Pitchfork, Gorilla vs Bear and Tiny Mix Tapes, amongst others. In 2013, Shearn produced, edited and directed the documentary and dance film entitled SILK. The film premiered at CPH:DOX Copenhagen, and has subsequently screened at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, as well the historic la Gaîte Lyrique in Paris. His work with director and cinematographer Nathan Kim (the dance films PHRASE and FAM) have played at Dance Camera West and received the StandardVision Showcase Award for Artistic Achievement at the Los Angeles Dance Film Festival. Shearn's narrative works as editor, including the short film BARK and the feature LADYWORLD, have premiered at festivals throughout the world, including Fantastic Fest and Cannes. Recently, Shearn has edited a reality series for MyxTV as well as branded content for a host of clients which have includes BuzzFeed, Conde Nast, Bank of America, Lego, Coca-Cola and Vimeo.
